TURNING THE PAGE at THE ARCH TRAINING CENTER

ARCH is please to host Turning the Pages' Literacy through Photography Program March 5th through May, 2008. The photos on display are from the 2006- 2007 school year at Turning the Page.

ARCH is open from 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.

Exhibit Description:

19 teachers and 370 students from Turning the Pages seven partner schools participated in Literacy Through Photography (LTP) last year. LTP is a school-based community program developed by photographer Wendy Ewald. The LTP program puts cameras in the hands of children and encourages them to use their own photographs as inspiration for creative writing.  Last year students were asked to take pictures and write about their hopes, communities, dreams, and families.

Intern or Volunteer

ARCH is actively seeking students and individuals seeking to expand their current career path to volunteer or intern at the Honfleur Gallery. Areas of interest include; visual artists in general, arts management or representation, arts marketing, curatorial work, installation of exhibits, and graphic design skills. If you possess an interest or are already currently pursuing one of these fields and would like the opportunity to volunteer or intern at Honfleur contact: Arts@archdc.org

Volunteers: Volunteers will be contacted on “as needed basis” based on their skill set and interest level. If you are interested in volunteering throughout the 2007 season, contact arts@archdc.org Please list interest areas, assets and general information about yourself.

Interns: Honfleur is seeking qualified interns in the field of visual arts. College students looking to fulfill their degree requirements or expand their educations welcome! Internships will roll on a monthly, bi-yearly or yearly basis depending on intern needs, gallery needs and intern skill level. Contact arts@archdc.org for further information.
